NEMT is an Erasmus+ cooperation project, financed by the EU under no KA220-VET-F60C4485, that aims to empower music teachers (who teach at middle and high school) with new specialized skills, helping them play several instruments, record and produce music with the help of digital applications, creating a new optional curriculum for music lessons in pre-university education, that include new, more attractive content for pupils and teaching methods, in accordance with modern technology in the field, that will stimulate their intelelctual development and creativity.
By implementing this project, we want to improve the music education system in pre-university education and align it with the development of digital technologies in the music field for a better connection with digitally native children and adolescents, by training 20 music teachers in teaching music with the help of digital instruments and the creation of a new curriculum and a guide of good practices in teaching music with the help of digital instruments in schools and high schools.
We will carry out a study on the curriculum and methods of teaching music with the help of digital instruments in preuniversity education in the partner countries, we will create a new curriculum and a guide of best practices for teaching music with the support of digital instruments in pre-university education, we will organize courses of training for music teachers from Romania and Latvia through which they will develop their musical skills and acquire new digital skills.
The main results of the project will be a new curriculum and a guide of good practices for teaching music with the support of digital instruments in pre-university education and we hope that this curriculum will be approved by the Romanian Ministry of Education (and from other countries) as an “Optional Curriculum”. We expect that more and more music teachers in preuniversity education will want to apply this new curriculum and be inspired by the best practices guide.
Project is coordinated by Asociația Star Education along with partners Inspectoratul Scolar Judetean Ilfov, Musichelp (Sweden) and Zvaignaja Komanda (Latvia).
In accordance with the association’s statute, Star Education aims to carry out activities that lead to the support, organization and promotion of social and cultural values, and especially cultural values in the field of music.
The association aims to promote and develop universal cultural values, discover and support young talents in the field of music, support artists working in this field, promote musical values among the population.
The association also aims to support and promote ecological ideas and values regarding environmental protection and in particular to contribute to raising the population’s awareness of the problems affecting the environment, as well as regarding the ways in which the current situation of the environment can be improved.
The objectives of the Association and the main ways of achieving them are the following:
-Organization of cultural actions and events, music concerts, as well as other entertainment shows;
-Organizing professional training courses for people who want to work in the cultural field and especially in the musical field;
-Initiating and participating in research and development projects and programs related to the Association’s fields of interest;
-Organizing conferences, congresses, seminars, round tables and meetings both in the country and abroad, in the Association’s fields of interest;
-Organizing and participating in activities and exchanges of experience with similar legal entities from the country and abroad
Musichelp was founded in 2002 and incorporated as a limited liability company in 2009. SIA ZVAIGZNAJA KOMANDA is a social enterprise working with educational projects such as ZVAIGZNAJA KLASE – a project implementing technology in the school system and working on developing a new methodology for teaching music for grades 7-9. It was founded by Agnese Rozniece, a renowned Latvian singer, mostly known as Agnese Rakovska.
The organization is currently implementing an initiative in Latvia to introduce digital technology into the teaching method of music for grades 7-9. This initiative is called “Constellation” and offers children and young people in schools the opportunity to learn the process of music creation in a contemporary way, using modern methodology and digital music production equipment, which positively influences the inclination towards music education activities.
ISJ Ilfov is a decentralized local public service of the Ministry of Education that acts at the level of Ilfov County to achieve the objectives of pre-university education provided by the Pre-university Education Law 198/2023.
The main activities of ISJ are: monitoring through school inspection the quality of teaching-learning-evaluation activities and school management, ensuring student participation in courses, organizing national exams and competitions for students and teachers, ensuring the training, counseling and professional development of teachers, managing databases with teaching and non-teaching staff, students and teaching resources/materials, developing partnerships for education at local, national and European levels. ISJ collaborates with local and national public authorities to carry out the diagnosis, prognosis and strategy in the field of education in Ilfov County. To carry out these activities, ISJ collaborates with the two related units: CCD Ilfov (House of the Teaching Staff Ilfov) and CJRAE (County Center for Resources and Educational Assistance Ilfov).
The ISJ coordinates, through its 27 school inspectors (plus 16 non-teaching staff), the educational activity of 205 public education units (kindergartens, primary and secondary schools, high schools, Children’s Palace, Sports Club and Center of Excellence), of which 83 have legal personality, as well as the activity of 80 private schools.
The role of ISJ is to monitor, evaluate and advise school staff and management in order to qualitatively implement the national curriculum, in compliance with national standards and performance indicators. ISJ Ilfov provides the necessary framework for the professional development of teachers, students’ skills, but also for organizational and community development.
ISJ coordinates the activity of schools in the county through several structures: advisory councils, methodologists, trainers etc
